Stavroula Leoutsakou is an Occupational Therapist and a graduate of the Department of Occupational Therapy at the Technical University of Athens. She completed her postgraduate studies at the Medical School of Athens, in the program “Interdisciplinary Psychiatry : Educated Care of Physical and Mental Health” and specifically at Attikon University Hospital, in the 2nd Psychiatric Clinic.
She has attended numerous training seminars on interventions in neurodevelopmental disorders, such as the PECS image exchange communication system and Sensory Integration (SI). She has also been trained in “Cognitive Counseling and Interventions” at the Society for Cognitive and Behavioral Studies, which is applicable to a wide range of mental disorders.
During her clinical training, she has worked in a variety of therapeutic settings, some of which are : the 1st Special Primary School E.L.E.P.A.P., the “Thriasio” General Hospital of Elefsina, the Psychiatric Hospital of Attica “Dafni”, the National Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled (E.I.A.A.), gaining a wide range of knowledge and multiple clinical skills.
Since 2013, she has been working in the field of Community Psychiatry, specifically in Day Care Centers, working for the psychosocial rehabilitation and reintegration of people with chronic psychiatric disorders (Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, etc.). She is a member of the Interdisciplinary Team where she evaluates, contributes to the goals and treatment plans of the population served and undertakes the planning and coordination of occupational and social therapy groups. At the same time, she provides individual sessions of occupational therapy, counselling and training in basic self-management and socialization skills.
As of 2024, she is partnering with “Vima Koino” to provide her specialized services both on-site and in off-site settings, depending on the individual needs of each therapeutee.
Her love for music , guitar, and painting, leads her to incorporate these creative and artistic methods as part of the occupational therapy process.
