The Social Skills Group is designed for people aged 16 to 25 who have difficulties socializing and maintaining social contact. This includes young people with high-functioning autism spectrum disorders, without intellectual disability (including Asperger’s syndrome), as well as people in the referred age group who have any structural social skills limitation (e.g., narcissistic disorders, psychoses, social phobias, etc.). The group is not psychotherapeutic in nature and therefore encourages the exchange of personal information between members and contact between them outside of the group.
The group size ranges from 3 to 7 members. The group meetings are held at our center as a meeting point, but also include outdoor activities (for coffee or food). The duration of the meetings is set at 1.5 to 2 hours and the meetings take place once a week from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
The group is “open” and therefore those interested can participate in as many meetings as they wish. Also, new members can enter the group at any stage (as long as they have been approved for participation by the group coordinator).
