Marina Cresta is a Psychologist and Psychotherapist with postgraduate studies in Counselling Psychology & Psychotherapy. She completed her clinical placements at the General Hospital of Athens “Evangelismos,” the University General Hospital “Attikon,” and the 6th Polyclinic Centre – Municipal Clinic of Kypseli, acquiring extensive experience in providing psychological support to individuals with mental health difficulties and chronic non-communicable conditions. Specifically, at “Evangelismos,” she worked in the outpatient psychiatric clinic, applying a psychoanalytic approach in both individual and group settings; at “Attikon,” she worked with patients with chronic non-communicable illnesses; and at the Municipal Clinic of Kypseli, she expanded her experience in community mental health.
She has received training in group therapy from the Hellenic Society for Existential Psychology and remains active in research, presenting scientific papers at conferences. She continues to develop professionally through seminars, workshops, and further training.
She works privately and collaborates with the speech therapy centre WalktheTalk, supporting children and their families, as well as with Vima Koino, providing mental health services. She conducts sessions in both Greek and English. Her approach combines psychodynamic thinking with an existential and person-centred stance, tailoring therapy to the needs of each individual. In her therapeutic work, she emphasises building a relationship of trust and genuine connection, where individuals can feel safe, understood, and accepted.
