Evaggelia Tsirigoti studied Psychology at Deree, American College of Greece (1997). She holds a Master’s degree in Stress Psychobiology from the University of Surrey, England and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from Deree, American College of Greece. She has also attended a counselling training programme at the University of Sussex, England, where she did her internship (1998-2001).
She works privately as a counsellor-psychotherapist and also offers her services at the municipal clinics of the Municipality of Athens as a mental health counsellor. She has experience in counselling adults with neurotic spectrum problems as well as family and emotional relationships, anxiety disorders, melancholia, depression, social isolation, trauma, loss. She has also worked in the field of child abuse prevention awareness and has participated in a nationwide research and training program of the non-profit organization against child abuse – ELIZA. She has organized and coordinated psycho-educational seminars in stress management and communication skills as well as in the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. From her work experience both in Greece and abroad she is sensitive to issues of diversity and multiculturalism.
Her approach is psychodynamic with an emphasis on brief psychotherapeutic interventions and the nuclear conflict analysis method (CCRT). She also provides sessions in English.
