Athanasios Koulouris is a Psychiatrist and graduate of the School of Medicine at the University of Crete. He also holds a Master’s degree in Bioethics from the same university. He completed his specialist training in Psychiatry at Aiginiteio Hospital and the General Hospital of Leros, where he gained experience in the assessment and treatment of a broad range of mental health conditions.
He is currently a member of the multidisciplinary team at “Vima Koino”, working collaboratively to provide comprehensive mental health care for individuals and their families. In addition, he maintains a private psychiatric practice in the centre of Athens.
Alongside his clinical practice, he has a strong interest in psychotherapy. He is currently undertaking formal training in Systemic and Existential Psychotherapy at an accredited training institute and has previously completed a two-year postgraduate training programme in
Psychoanalytic Theory and Technique. He has also trained in psychodrama and sociodrama, broadening his understanding of human relationships and experiential therapeutic approaches.
His clinical approach is tailored to the individual needs of each person. Depending on the clinical presentation and treatment goals, care may involve psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, or an integrated combination of both, with the aim of improving mental well-being and overall quality of life.
