These interventions can occur at individual or group level.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically here at \u201cVima Koino\u201d, Occupational Therapy is for adults who are experiencing :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chronic severe or mild Psychiatric Disorders across the whole spectrum of the following: (Psychoses , Emotional disorders, Depression , Personality Disorders , Mental &#8211; Cognitive deficits and difficulties , Social isolation , withdrawal , lack of motivation).<\/li>\n<li>The objectives of Occupational Therapy\u00a0 (group or individual) are :<\/li>\n<li>To evaluate the problems of individuals in communication, interaction and relationships with others.<\/li>\n<li>To facilitate the engagement of people with similar goals , problems or life roles in activities that are meaningful to them .<\/li>\n<li>To understand and express feelings generated by group interaction and relationships with others and to be motivated towards change .<\/li>\n<li>To use the principles of the social microcosm in addressing issues of inclusion or exclusion from desired social roles.<\/li>\n<li>To develop self-awareness , self-understanding, self-efficacy, hope and optimism in everyday life.<\/li>\n<li>To encourage social contacts and social reintegration, to reduce self-stigmatisation.<\/li>\n<li>To reduce the consequences of the disorder &#8211; symptoms and to encourage compensatory behaviours.<\/li>\n<li>To become autonomous \u00a0in handling Activities of Daily Living.<\/li>\n<li>To better structure and make functional the use of free time and participation in recreational , creative activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By the term Occupational Therapy we refer to the therapeutic intervention that enhances the participation of the individual in &#8220;projects&#8221; &#8211; activities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"menu_order":320,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"class_list":["post-4081","service","type-service","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.1.1 -
