Giorgos Nikitaidis is a Psychologist with postgraduate training in clinical psychology. He has completed two bachelor’s degrees, related to the science of Psychology (Bachelor of Psychology and a graduate of F.P.Ps with a major in Psychology) at the University of Leiden, The Netherlands and the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens as well as a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Leiden, The Netherlands. His postgraduate degree in clinical psychology was based on the cognitive behavioural method which she uses as her main method of psychotherapy.\u00a0 He possesses the critical knowledge of different aspects of this discipline and multiple skills and qualities necessary for the role of a Psychologist. In addition, he has been trained in the new E.M.D.R. method of trauma therapy by Domna Ventouratos’ trauma therapy institute.<\/p>\n
He has worked in various individual Psychology programs through Leiden University, but also volunteered with people with low income (mainly Greeks abroad) who were seeking help and psychological support. Further, he worked as a Psychologist in psychological support structures in Utrecht, the Netherlands (care companies for people with health problems) from 2018 until the end of 2021. During his clinical internship, he worked as an assistant in a private practice, where he participated in creating customized treatment plans, conducted psychological assessments, communicated with patients to educate them on different mental disorders and treatment options, attended psychotherapy sessions, practiced psychotherapy under supervision and gained a lot of experience in treating patients. He has successfully treated cases of anxiety disorders, panic attacks, the broad spectrum of depressive disorder, addictions, etc. Further, he has been involved in counseling for self-improvement and in times of crisis. The main training and treatment method he uses is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and EMDR. He believes that many different methods can be effective, depending on the individual situation and personality, and for this reason, he continues and expands his training in the science of Psychology. He has been fortunate to work with people from all over the world, gaining a more global perspective on mental health. Finally, he offers sessions in English.<\/p>\n
