The head of the centre, Elvi Kanellopoulou, studied Psychology and Economics at Clark University in Massachusetts, USA. She continued her postgraduate studies in Counseling Psychology and Psychotherapy at the American College of Greece.<\/p>\n

She is trained in behavioral family therapy for psychosis, and has a special scientific and research interest in psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery of the mentally ill. She is certified in administering and interpreting the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) personality test and continues her training in group psychotherapy at the EEPPSSO (Hellenic Society for Psychoanalytic Group Psychotherapy).<\/p>\n

She has become skilled in EMDR, a scientifically based therapy indicated for adults dealing with phobias, panic attacks, anxiety disorders, depression, addictions, obsessive-compulsive disorders, as well as in cases of chronic pain or serious illness to deal with their psychological effects.<\/p>\n

Elvie has over 15 years of clinical experience in the field of psychotherapy. She completed her internship in the Eating Disorders Department at St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital, London. Since 2008 she has worked as the manager of the Day Centre for the mentally ill for the Association of Families for Mental Health (FFA) and has worked privately as a psychotherapist.<\/p>\n

At the same time, she is the person who inspired and implemented the creation of the model centre for the provision of integrated services, VIMA KOINO, as her close involvement with mental health issues, her expertise and the realization that there is no similar structure in Greece prompted her to invest in a centre that can provide all services in-house and be a safe “shelter” for people in need of mental support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
