Information

Dimitris Vasiadis is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist.

He studied at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He was post-trained in psychotherapy at the Panhellenic Association of Cognitive and Analytical Psychotherapy, with which he maintains an ongoing relationship in supervision groups. He attended the psychoanalytic training program at 251 GA in collaboration with the Hellenic Psychoanalytic Society and the psychoanalytic training program at Evangelismos Hospital in collaboration with the Hellenic Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and the 1st University Psychiatric Clinic, as well as the New Lacanian School. He has attended the seminar of the Hellenic Society of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy on Psychological Trauma.

He has a 20-year love for psychotherapy as a trainer and as an ongoing trainee. He believes in peer relationships between therapist and therapeutee as well as the involvement of the therapeutee in decisions.

As a psychiatrist, he trained at the General Hospital of Aviation and the Psychiatric Clinic of Evangelismos Hospital, where he undertook psychoanalytic supervision of cases and participated in the psychopharmacological training program as a speaker in courses on antidepressants, antipsychotics, and the administration of drugs in the presence of multiple somatic problems with emphasis on interactions with drugs of other specialties. He also participated in the nursing staff education program with lectures on the nature of neurosis, psychosis, and borderline disorder.

In the present year he participated in the 8th congress on neurobiology, psychopharmacology & treatment guidance as a guest speaker on “The art of psychopharmacology – Tailoring the treatment”, in the Symposium against the use of labeling diagnoses and in favor of a more descriptive dimensional approach to mental disorder, as well as making corrections in the American journal Current Psychiatry concerning the psychopharmacological part of the article to be published, and his book “Preparing for the psychiatric specialty exam with multiple choice questions” is currently being published by BETA.

In his free time he visits his favourite place, the Gate of Trikala, where he served as a medical doctor. He respects friendship and reciprocity.
